Ballad for violin, cello, and piano, is part of the Romantic Trilogy, formed by Ballad, Nocturnal, and Intermezzo. It is a study on textural writing using the Carrousel technique. The intention is to develop maximal surface contrasts from a predefined and fixed harmonic structure that does not suffer any transformation from the beginning to the end of the piece.
